12th August: Saturday’s Premier League Accumulator – 10/1

With the 2023/24 Premier League campaign getting underway this weekend, we have a mouth-watering set of opening fixtures from across the country. For those of you looking to open the new season with a flutter, we have found a trio of Premier League tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday August 12th
BST 12:30 Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

Suffering Premier League title heartbreak last season after failing at the final hurdle and missing out on the chance to get their hands on a first domestic crown since 2004, Arsenal will be desperate to avoid an opening weekend banana skin here. While Mikel Arteta’s young squad might have eventually fallen five points adrift of dethroning Manchester City, Saturday’s hosts should take a string of positives away from their domestic flurry. Cruising their way to a Champions League return and really breaking the bank this summer as they recruited the likes of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, the Gunners will know the importance of making an early statement in north London. Suffering just a pair of Premier League defeats at the Emirates last season and gaining a reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third, Arsenal should be smelling an early chance here. While Nottingham Forest might have eventually cruised their way to Premier League safety after a stellar end-of-season flurry, Steve Cooper’s men did show a host of glaring struggles away from the City Ground. In fact, Saturday’s guests remarkably recorded just a single top-flight victory on their travels from any of their 19 attempts last season. Likewise, hit with a 5-0 drumming when they travelled to the Emirates back on October 30th, we are expecting an enjoyable home victory here.

Tip: Arsenal win Both teams to score @ 2/1

15:00 Brighton vs Luton Town

While fans around the Amex might have been heartbroken after Graham Potter briefly made the move to Chelsea back in September, Brighton have certainly gone from strength to strength since they welcomed Roberto De Zerbi to the club. Enjoying what has been a monumental rise under the one-time Sassuolo boss, the Seagulls also wrote their own piece of Premier League history last season. Storming their way to an iconic Europa League ticket and with the mood on the south coast at a continued high, Saturday’s hosts will be looking to keep up their momentum when they return to the Amex this weekend. Gaining a reputation for their free-flowing approach under De Zerbi, it should also be noted that Brighton suffered just a single defeat from any of their final nine straight Premier League showdowns in front of their own supporters. On the flip side, causing what was one of the Championship upsets in history last season as they secured a famous Premier League return, Luton will certainly have a party atmosphere in their camp on Saturday afternoon. Edging past Coventry thanks to that iconic penalties victory at Wembley on May 27th, the Hatters have cemented their place in the history books. However, despite being set for an emotional top-flight opener here, Rob Edwards’ men face a huge challenge at the Amex.

Tip: Brighton win to nil @ 23/20

17:30 Newcastle vs Aston Villa

Making major Premier League history last season and riding a remarkable wave of momentum under Eddie Howe, Newcastle certainly upset the top-flight establishment. Booking a first Champions League ticket in two decades, Saturday’s hosts will simply be looking to carry on from where they left off back in May. In the midst of what has been an iconic rise under the former Bournemouth boss, the Magpies also gained a reputation for their continued success at St. James’ Park last season. Including a stellar 4-1 romp against fellow European qualifiers Brighton on May 18th, Howe’s men will be looking to make another early statement of intent this weekend. However, also making their own piece of history last season as they stormed their way to a Europa Conference League ticket, Aston Villa also find the mood in their camp at a memorable high. Continuing on a heavyweight rise under ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery, Saturday’s guests caused a string of notable upsets last year. Claiming a stunning 3-0 victory when they welcomed Newcastle to Midlands back in April, the Villains will be looking to produce a similar performance here. It should be noted, with the two sides playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw when they met for a pre-season showdown out in the United States last month, we are expecting another enjoyable opening weekend battle from St. James’ Park.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 4/5
