According to the Sony’s recent earnings reports, courtesy of analyst Daniel Ahmad, the company sold around 4.5 million units of the PS5 over the last quarter. For a larger picture, around 59.2 million units of the PS5 were sold in totality as of the end of the previous financial year on March 31, 2024.

For some added context, this means that when it comes to speed of sales, the PS5 is slightly behind the PS4, which had sold around 60 million units in the same time frame. Sony also doesn’t seem to expect the PS5 to outsell the PS4 next year.
