While Hibernian might have found themselves slumped in the bottom half of the Premiership table when last season was brought to an early finish, few would have expected what has been a stellar start to life this time around. Along with opening up the new campaign with a deserved 2-1 win against Kilmarnock on home soil, Hibs have won each of their first three top-flight appearances and are enjoying their most fruitful Premiership patch since opening 2020. Really impressing with a thumping 4-1 win away at Livingston last weekend, one man to potentially keep an eye out for on Saturday evening will be leading marksman, Christian Doidge. Bagging the winner against Dundee in midweek and now claiming back-to-back strikes since opening the New Year, the former Forest Green striker has recorded three top-flight goals in his last four outings continuing on from last season. On the flip side, while the mood in Hibernian s camp should be at a continued high, the same cannot be said for Motherwell. Only managing to collect a single point from in any of their opening three Premiership contests, Saturday s guests appear to be showing the same issues that haunted them at the back of last season s interrupted campaign. Along with opening this year with back-to-back shock 1-0 defeats against Ross County and Dundee, the Steelmen have remarkably managed to win just one of their last 11 top-flight appearances and should be in for another tough test this weekend.

Relinquishing both their Premier League and FA Cup titles over this year s extended domestic campaign, Pep Guardiola s side have all his eggs firmly in the Champions League basket. Winning six of their last seven matchups across all formats and bouncing back from their Wembley defeat against Arsenal last month, the Sky Blues have really started to shine in the final third. Signing off their Premier League campaign with a 5-0 romp against Norwich, City also became the only side from across Europe s top-five leagues to break the 100-goal barrier this year. With Raheem Sterling once again finding the net against Los Blancos last time out, the England international has recorded 11 post-lockdown strikes and has enjoyed a record-breaking campaign in the blue half of Manchester. However, while City might make the trip to Lisbon as a standout pick to lift their first European crown this summer, they should be cautious of a Lyon side that have already collected one notable scalp over the past week. Despite not managing to hold onto their lead out in Turin in the second-leg, the French outfit did manage to come past Italian giants Juventus and they also have one leading marksman enjoying a stunning European run of form. Converting from the spot at the Allianz last week, Memphis Depay has remarkably found the net in each of his last six Champions League appearances on the bounce and became just the second Dutch player in history to achieve such a record.
