Real Madrid have announced that president Florentino Perez has been re-elected to the role for a further four years.
Perez, 66, was unopposed in his bid to continue heading the Spanish club, with the deadline for nominations passing without challenge.
And a meeting of the club s electoral board in the early hours of Sunday morning confirmed that he would lead the Madrid outfit for a further four years.
A Real Madrid statement read: In Madrid, on June 2, 2013, at 00:01 hours, at the headquarters of the Electoral Board of the Real Madrid Football Club, directors met in order to try and decide the matters listed below (that of the presidency).
Having no more than one bid submitted to the board, under Article 40, paragraph E, section 2 of the current by-laws of the club, Florentino Perez was proclaimed president of Real Madrid.
Perez first became Real Madrid president in 2000, and has since helped bring the likes of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham to the club.
His reign was briefly interrupted by Ramon Calderon, who held the post between 2006 and 2009.
A ceremony to confirm Perez s re-appointment will be held on Tuesday at the club s stadium, Santiago Bernabeu.
