Giovani dos Santos claims Tottenham s reasons to keep him at the club are unconvincing as he seeks a move away from White Hart Lane.
The Mexico international has struggled to cement a regular first-team place following his arrival from Barcelona in 2008 and made just 13 appearances in all competitions for Harry Redknapp s side last season.
The 23-year-old was set for a move to Spanish side Villarreal, but the deal fell through due to the club s relegation from La Liga this month, according to the midfielder s lawyer.
(Tottenham) have given me answers but none convince me, Dos Santos said when asked why Spurs have refused to sell him.
Because, at the end of the day, they haven t given me minutes on the pitch. I respect the club and my contract, but my intention is to leave.
There are options from several places, I m not going to close any doors, but the idea is to remain in Europe.
Dos Santos has been heavily linked with a switch to the MLS but the midfielder admits that is not an option this summer.
It s not that I see it as a bad option, I simply think I ve been formed in Europe for years and want to remain there, he said.
