Ligue 1 outfit Rennes could make a late move on Lyon flop Yoann Gourcuff, according to France Football.
The former Bordeaux star has another year left on his deal at Stade Gerland, but seeing as how he is due to receive staggering €7.6 million for the final season of his contract, les Gones are desperate to offload him in the coming days.
France Football is reporting that Rennes are prepared to offer the midfielder an escape route from Lyon, despite the club president Rene Ruello recently revealing that les Bretons do not have the funds to sign Gourcuff.
The 28-year-old, who missed the start of the season through injury, could be tempted by the proposal from Rennes, especially considering that he was born in the region of Brittany.
Despite arriving at Lyon in a mega money deal from Bordeaux back in 2010, Gourcuff has only managed 73 Ligue 1 appearances for les Gones, scoring 11 goals in the process.
